English and work experience sandwich course The Professional English Programme is a specially designed sandwich course for those that want to combine a course of study with an internship or period of paid work experience. It is open to all nationalities and is suitable for students with a slightly lower level of English, although they must have reached intermediate level by the time they are about to commence their placement. The course element is structured around improvement of English and also learning valuable employment skills. The programme is accredited by a nationally recognised examination body, the National Council of Further Education, and successful completion will lead to an Intermediate Qualification in Employment Skills. Placements are arranged in areas suitable to student’s educational background. Students can work towards the CIE work experience certification (optional). Examples of Internships Available • Marketing • Finance • Travel and Tourism • Public Relations • IT and Computing • Hospitality (paid option) Programme Details Programme starts: Any Monday English Level: Intermediate and above English level (pre intermediate accepted on Option 4) Eligibility: All nationalities Age Requirement: Under and postgraduates Length of Programme: Flexible, depending on option chosen Locations: Areas of Work: Unpaid placements available in: Marketing & Sales, Engineering, Travel & Tourism, Finance & Accounting, Insurance, PR & Advertising, Law, International Trade, Human Resources, Administration & Secretarial, Media. • Other unpaid options always considered. • Teaching assistant positions available. • Paid Option is in hospitality, hotel and catering. Accommodation: Budget hotel accommodation, hostels, host family. Staff accommodation provided during placement if paid hotel and catering work experience option chosen. Programme Options and Fees Option 1: 4 weeks study + 22 weeks vocational placement + 1 week examination period (£1445) Option 2: 8 weeks study + 22 weeks vocational placement + 1 week examination period (£1760) Option weeks study + 22 weeks vocational placement + 1 week examination period (£2205) Option weeks study + 22 weeks vocational placement + 1 week examination period (£2700) |
